The Ultimate Local Reference Guide: Denton, TX

I've been a Denton County local since I was born. But there are still those days when I have trouble finding new places to eat, places to go, and things to do around Denton with my friends and family.  Sometimes, we just can't decide on where we want to go.  I wanted to know the  LOCAL HOT-SPOTS  of the town, instead of all the obvious food and shopping chains that are anywhere you go  (Wal-Mart, Subway, Chili's, etc.) when you Google "food in Denton." I also specifically wanted to know places that served frozen margaritas, had happy hour specials, bubble tea, restaurants with an outdoor patio, etc...  So I decided to create my own blog. Like a good Dentonite, I only listed places that are locally owned or semi-locally owned (i.e. started in Dallas or nearby, and then expanded to Denton). **I am "advertising" these local businesses for free without endorsements or any affiliation. What can I say,  I [heart] Denton. LOCAL = started

Top 20 Must-Have Kitchen and Home Items

Whether you're shopping for yourself or looking for a great house warming gift idea, the following are mostly inexpensive items that you must have in your home. These items were either game-changers, highly used, or simply made life easier.  Enjoy! Felt Hangers: I can't get enough of these. I think I buy a lot, but then I realize I wish I had more. Actually, I wish all of my hangers were like these. From silk to cotton, spaghetti straps to wide neck tops, felt hangers hold up all kinds of clothes made with all types of materials. I don't need specific hangers for my tops with straps, nor do I need a specific hanger for my silk material clothes that easily fall off the hanger. Felt hangers are the solution to all clothes-hanging problems. Plus, they don't take up very much space and good for small closet spaces! Find at Walmart, TJMAXX, Home Goods, Ross, and more. Ottoman Storage / Coffee Table: You can find this kind of item at TJMAXX, Home Goods, or similar.

DIY Car Kit Ideas: List of Items

A DIY car kit is not the same thing as an emergency kit - they serve different purposes. A true Emergency Kit should go in the back of the trunk, including items such as band-aids, Neosporin, and other trauma or survival aids. On the contrary, DIY Car Kits have non-emergency items ---but used for your own personal "emergencies," such as spilling ketchup on your shirt or a sudden headache when on the go. **A DIY Car Kit should be in a small to medium sized container, with a zipping or buckling component to ensure the items stay inside. It can be a flimsy material bag, or a sturdy plastic container. But make sure it is small enough that it will not take up a lot of space in your back seat. The ideal size would be able to fit underneath the seat or on the floorboard. See the items below to configure your own Car Kit according to what YOU think you'll need "in case of emergency!"
