This is a real-life itinerary that we used on vacation to enjoy our "Southern Belle Trail" road trip through Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee.

Southern Belle Trail Itinerary

June 14: Dallas / Savannah

• Afternoon

• Fly to Savannah at 3pm

• Car rental Enterprise 

• Check in Residence Inn Marriott

• Get food to-go for picnic at Forsyth Park 

• Evening

• Six Pence Pub 

• Peregin (Perry Lane Hotel) rooftop: 8pm reservation (next to the pub)

June 15: Savannah

• Morning:

• Breakfast buffet at hotel (grab snacks for later?)

• Mirabelle coffee shop

• Broughton street: Paris market

• Leopold's Ice cream (tutti frutti)

• Mrs Wilkes lunch to-go or FCFS patio seating? (opens at 11am)

• Or check for cancellation at Olde Pink House

• Evening

• Explore River Street: River Street Market Place

• River St Liquor Store (mini bottles), Parker’s Market (snacks) for boat

• Sunset Riverboat Cruise: 6pm (departs 7pm)-9pm

June 16: Savannah / Charleston

• Morning

• Breakfast buffet at hotel

• Check out after breakfast (by 12pm)

• Optional: Go to Burnt Church Distillery (opens at 11am)

• Afternoon

• Hilton Head beach (leave by 1pm): beach access tips

• If hungry: Coco’s cheap eats (by Singleton beach)

• Drive to Charleston: Check in Airbnb at 3pm (1.75 hr drive from beach)

• Bay Street Biergarten: 4pm reservation (4-7 HH)

• Evening

• Check for cancellation at Citrus Club rooftop bar for evening

• Early dinner at Edmund’s Oast brewpub (call ahead)

• Rooftop bar: Citrus Club (if available), 

June 17: Charleston

• Morning

• Charleston Farmers Market (8am-1pm)

• Poogan’s Porch brunch: 10:45am reservation (15 min walk)

• Afternoon

• Rainbow row / Battery row mansions

• City Market

• Little Jacks dinner

• Forte Jazz Lounge: 7-9pm reservation

June 18: Charleston / Myrtle Beach

• Morning

• Check out in morning (by 9am, 11am max)

• baguette magic breakfast to-go

• magnolia plantation or gardens by 9:30am ($20 each)

• Drive to Myrtle Beach (2.5 hr drive, grab lunch on way)

• Afternoon

• Check in Bar Harbor 3pm (call about early check in to park for free)

• Beach time

• Misc

• Independent Republic Brewing live music concert at 5pm (free)

• Mad Myrtles Ice cream

• Evening

• Dinner ideas: Art Sushi Bar and burgers, Abraham’s Gyros, Hurricane’s 

• Epic Arcade and bar (also has food)

June 19: Myrtle Beach / Charlotte / Asheville

• Morning

• Early breakfast at Johnny D Waffles (check in or order delivery at 7am)

• Check out by 11am

• Drive to Charlotte (3.75 hr drive)

• Afternoon (Charlotte)

• Fourth Ward (walk neighborhood)

• 7th Street Public Market

• Eat at Optimist Food Hall (late lunch/early dinner)

• Drive to Asheville (2 hr drive)

• Evening

• Check in at Glo Best Western (3pm minimum)

• pinball museum ($15 each, closes at 9pm)

June 20: Asheville

• Breakfast at hotel or brunch at Biscuit Head

• Drive to Biltmore Estate by 12pm reservation (winery in afternoon)

• Drive up Blue Ridge Pkwy, stop at Craggy Pinnacle Hike overlook (1mi easy hike)

• Montfort rooftop bar for dinner: 7pm reservation

June 21: Asheville

• Breakfast at hotel (grab snacks?)

• Hike smoky mountains: Richland Balsam Nature Loop Trail (1.4mi)

• Grove Arcade (Shopping)

• Omni grove park inn restaurant (sunset terrace): 5pm reservation

June 22: Asheville / Nashville

• Breakfast at hotel

• Check out by 11am

• Drive to Nashville (4.5 hrs)

• Pit stop in Knoxville

June 23: Nashville

• Hattie B's Nashville Hot Chicken

• Browse the streets of Broadway nightlife

• Pins Mechanical (indoor entertainment and games)

• Rare Bird rooftop bar

June 24: Nashville / Dallas

• Fly out of Nashville in late afternoon

• What is Savannah's open container policy? The legislation in Savannah simply permits patrons and party goers to carry open drinks as long as those concoctions are held in a plastic, 16-ounce cup (not bottles, mugs or flasks) and must remain in the parameters of the Historic Distric

• More rooftop/fun bars: Top Deck, Churchills (or quaint bar seating), Drayton Hotel, Lost Square, Myrtle Rose (Marriott), Electric Moon (JW Marriott)

• wormsloe historic site (20 min drive from hotel)

• trolley tour ($35 each, SAV SCENE code) with stops for transportation, 9am-5pm
