Santa Fe can be a super fun place to visit in the summer. While it can get a bit warm, it's also over 7,000 feet in elevation so you'll likely have cooler mornings and evenings most days. In fact, the average temperature during summer months only gets as high as the low 80's, so (being from Texas), that sounds wonderful to me.

Top Things to Do
Totally worth checking out! This is a trippy but extremely interesting, interactive and fun experience for ANY age.
However, it could be stressful if you have really young kids because it seems like they could get easily lost or separated from you. And it's not exactly an accessible experience if you have a physical disability or trouble with balance, climbing stairs, etc.
Get a ticket in advance. You'll likely not get tickets at the door because it books up fast.
You'll be more likely to find a parking spot in the morning, and parking spots may require payment (depending on day or time) via a toll machine or mobile app.
Enjoy walking into the many art, home goods and apparel shops inspired by traditional Southwestern style. Check out the adobe El Dorado hotel and historic Loretto Chapel Staircase (paid entry). And don't forget to check out Doodlets — a fun gift shop for all ages.

Proof of vaccination may be required. Make reservations if possible.
Branch out and try some chili-infused chocolates!
They also have an upstairs/rooftop cantina (no reservations accepted for rooftop).
The Pink Adobe is a separate but connected building to the Dragon Room. Reservations are recommended.
The Dragon Room is a fantastic place to enjoy happy hour from 4-7 at the bar. Highly recommend! Also, their brisket quesadillas and burgers are great.
If you love drinking wine, eating small plates, and want a beautiful atmosphere - this is the place for you.
Located at La Fonda on the Plaza, this lounge offers live music throughout each month to enjoy eating, drinking and dancing to.
Yep, that's really what it's called. A great stop for a snack, dessert, coffee or light bite for breakfast or lunch.
Both of these breweries are located at the Railyard — a popular gathering spot for residents and visitors alike.
This place can fill up fast for breakfast, but worth checking out. The wait shouldn't be long, but the main issue is the extremely limited parking lot. You might have to find a place close by and walk over. You can also grab something to-go from the bakery instead without much of a wait.
Where to Stay
We stayed at an adobe Airbnb and it was the cutest thing ever. I do recommend trying to find something close to the plaza so it's walking distance and you won't have to worry about parking or paying to park.
As mentioned earlier, the adobe El Dorado hotel also looks really neat and it's right downtown close to the Plaza.
