Telluride, Colorado | Best Things to Do, Tips, and More | Ultimate Summer Travel Guide

Telluride, Colorado is one of our favorite places to visit in the summer. It's a bit of a drive to get to, no matter where you're coming from, but worth the trip.  We go to Telluride to get out of the Texas heat in August every year and here's some of our biggest takeaways while you're here. Best Things to Do in Telluride Hiking Trails Telluride has quick or direct access to multiple amazing hiking trails that you don't want to miss. But keep in mind, with the highest concentration of 13 and 14 thousand foot peaks in Colorado. That means a lot of steep climbing! Here's some of our favorite trails to explore: Bridal Veil Falls: On AllTrails, you'll notice there are more than one Bridal Veil Falls trail option.   Santa Fe can be a super fun place to visit in the summer. While it can get a bit warm, it's also over 7,000 feet in elevation so you'll likely have cooler mornings and evenings most days. In fact, the average temperature during summer months only gets as high as the low 80's, so (being from Texas), that sounds wonderful to me. This is a trippy but extremely interesting, interactive and fun experience for ANY age.  However, it could be stressful if you have really young kids because it seems like they could get easily lost or separated from you. And it's not exactly an accessible experience if you have a physical disability or trouble with balance, climbing stairs, etc.  Get a ticket in advance.
