  As a first time mom, I have no idea what to truly expect when it comes to labor and delivery. So I spent countless hours trying to research and become educated on what to expect when it comes to the birth of my baby. While I am fully aware that every woman's labor and delivery experience will be unique, I like to have an idea of all the things that could possibly happen so I am not "surprised" when my birth plan needs to make a change in the moment. Telluride, Colorado is one of our favorite places to visit in the summer. It's a bit of a drive to get to, no matter where you're coming from, but worth the trip.  We go to Telluride to get out of the Texas heat in August every year and here's some of our biggest takeaways while you're here. But keep in mind, with the highest concentration of 13 and 14 thousand foot peaks in Colorado. That means a lot of steep climbing!   Santa Fe can be a super fun place to visit in the summer. While it can get a bit warm, it's also over 7,000 feet in elevation so you'll likely have cooler mornings and evenings most days. In fact, the average temperature during summer months only gets as high as the low 80's, so (being from Texas), that sounds wonderful to me.
